Beginning Stained Glass- 4 weeks

Students will learn the copper foil method to make a project. Choose your pattern and glass. Learn how to prepare your pattern, cut, grind, foil, solder, and clean your project. Learn about patina. Please bring safety glasses.

Intermediate Stained Glass- 6 Weeks

Students choose their own projects. We will work on improving basic cutting and soldering skills, strip cutting, preparing your work jig, and framing with zinc came. 

Recommended Project Size: 16" X 20" (25 - 100 pieces)

Cost: $100 + cost of supplies (glass, cutter, oil, copper foil, flux, solder, zinc or lead.)

Introduction to Stained Glass

Students learn the basics of making a suncatcher in this 5-hour class. Learn to prepare a pattern, cut glass, grind, foil, and solder pieces. Patina is optional. Please bring safety glasses.

Fused Glass Wind Chimes
 

Design and create your own set of wind chimes.

Decorate your own flower beds or fairy garden. Use frit and make a slurry.

Learn to use lead came to make a

suncatcher with wire overlay.

Kid's Beach Mosaic Resin Class (6X8)

Make a mosaic on an 6" X 8" picture frame using stained glass, frit, seashells, beach glass, and other found objects. The finished project needs 8 hours to cure so it will need to be picked up the following day. Please bring any special sea glass, shells, or other items you would like to include. No glass cutting.

Mosaic Resin Class (9X11)

Make a mosaic on an 8" X 10" picture frame using stained glass, frit, seashells, beach glass, and other found objects. Glass cutting experience is recommended.

Wind Spinners

One of the latest trends is stained glass is the wind spinner.   Choose from several designs in this 2-session class.

         Mosaic              Stepping Stone

Learn the indirect method of making

stepping stones in a mold.  Class is two

sessions.

Cost: $65

Includes concrete, hardware cloth  reinforcement and use of mold

 Jewelry Box

 Make a jewelry box with bevels and a small panel for the top.  Learn to assemble the      box with a tube-and-rod hinge and

optional feet.  Students provide or purchase glass and bevels. 

Cost: $55 plus glass and bevels

Includes tube, rod and feet

Moravian Star

You will foil and assemble this pre-cut twelve piece Moravian star, originally designed as a

lesson in geometry. 

Cost: $58 includes pre-cut kit

Framing with Stained Glass

Learn to frame treasured items:  artwork, photographs, invitations, birth announcements, mirrors

Cost: $35 plus cost of glass and materials

Monday Class (Afternoon Class)

October 18      5:30 - 8:30 pm

Fused Glass Ornaments

Create memories with your friends, family, or co-workers in the two-hour workshop.  Make your ornaments using glass frit or scrap glass.  You may schedule your own group of four to eight students, ages 10 and up.

Cost: $10 per ornament

 (Material and firing are included)

Fused and Slumped Glass

Make a plate, bowl or cheese tray

Cost: $48. 

Includes use of mold and 2 firings.

Tiffany or panel lampshade

Learn to make a Tiffany style lampshade on a

mold in this six week class.  Students will do work at home or during open studio hours. 

Cost: $125

Open Studio Time

Open Studio Hours are available for students who need minimal help. Grinders and soldering irons are available for your used as well as special tools.

Cost: $10.00/hour

 (Students provide their own cutters, googles, supplies, and glass)

Private Instructional Time

Need help soldering or framing a panel? Need advise on the repair you are doing? Private instructional time is available for intermediate students where you need it- cutting, foiling, soldering, framing. Students provide their own cutters, googles, and glasses. Bring your own supplies or you may purchase them at the studio.                                       $25.00/hour
