It’s a time to review 2013, to celebrate the successes and to repent of shortcomings. I want to thank all those who’ve helped me this year — especially Cindy for her great help in the studio; Scott and Mike for painting and building new glass bins and counters; Joann for redecorating our enlarged gift shop; Lorraine, Debbie, Sylvia for your labor and all the special friends, students, customers of Shining Light Stained Glass. I want to give a special thank you to my husband Bill for encouraging me to pursue my dreams and helping with our new point of sale system. Above all I want to thank God for the gifts, talents, and vision he’s given me and for His continued direction and wisdom. I couldn’t do it without you and I appreciate all you’ve taught me.
To those friends and customers I have disappointed, I sincerely apologize. If I didn’t return your phone call or was in any way insensitive, I’m sorry. To the woman who dropped off her lamp to me at the Bodacious Bazaar for us to repair, the repair was finished before Christmas, but I have misplaced your name and phone number. Please call me.
This leads me to writing out new year’s resolutions, my goals for 2014.
• Gratitude – I’m grateful for the opportunity I had this year to “enlarge the place of my tent”. I want to remember each day to be grateful for friends, family, good health and all I’ve been given.
• Stewardship – I want to be a better steward of my talent and finances, but especially my time so I hope to give up those mindless computer games.
• Organization – I will attack the mounds of paperwork and set up systems to keep on top of things, so bills get paid on time, orders and phone numbers are not lost, and time is not wasted because I don’t know where I put something.
• Health – I am going to eat more nutritious whole foods, exercise more faithfully, and set a goal to lose 10 pounds.
Blessings to go through your own open doors in 2014.
